Canada

Original Designation: Coat/Manteau Combat LTWT CADPAT

Translated Designation: No info

History: Development of this pattern began in 1995. The approach was very scientific with photos recorded showing typical terrain at typical infantry detecting ranges (50-300 m). After analysis the 4 colours of the temperate version was chosen.

Use: Used by the Canadian Army. Issue began January 2002. The whole Canadian Army should be issued this uniform by the end of 2003 - thus replacing the old plain olivegreen uniform.

Camouflage pattern: The pattern has 4 colours: light green, dark green, brown and black.

Other Information: There is also a desert version of the CADPAT (colours: pinkish-tan, medium brown and black) Commercial items are available in the CADPAT pattern, but at least some of it is produced by clothing that has been rejected by the Canadian Army.
